Using a brad nailer for installing hardwood flooring?

i do renos went in to fix up this guys reno that was 5 weeks late so far .. and the homeowner told me the guy was using a brad nailer to install the hardwood there were alot of squeaks in the floor is this because he used the pin nailer....ps i do not do hardwood .. thanks in advance
