How to help a broken middle toe?

at bout 4 clock today i fell over and broke my middle toe is there any way of helping it my mum bandage it but i took it off to check any swelling and i dont no how to put i back on is there anyway of helping it except bandageing and puting a icepack on it if not can u tell me how to bandage it please
